Project Description
Healthy Kids Check
The aim of the Healthy Kids Check is to improve the health and well-being of children and ensure they are fit and ready to learn once they start school.
The Healthy Kids Check promotes early detection of lifestyle risk factors, delayed development and illness and provides opportunity to discuss with the doctor or nurse, guidance on the introduction of healthy lifestyles and early intervention strategies.
A Healthy Kids Check will include an assessment of your child’s height and weight, an assessment of their eyesight, hearing and oral health and discussion about their toilet habits and known or suspected allergies.
The Healthy Kids check is delivered in conjunction with their 4 year old immunisation, which can be given to children between the ages of 3 to under 5 years of age.
Please call the surgery to arrange a consultation for your child. You will need a double appointment. As of July, 2015 the Government has removed funding for this Service. However, we still believe it is a useful Service but are no longer able to bulk bill it.
