Burraneer Family practice employs Jennifer to help provide our patients with advice/help to new mothers, breast feeding problems along with general advice for children through to 5 years of age.

As this service is a free service (no bulk billing item), Children/babies who want to see Jennifer will need to be current patients of Burraneer Family Practice. (eg have childhood immunisations given by the doctors at the practice, 6 week check, etc)

Home visits are available for current patients of the practice living in the immediate area (Caringbah to Cronulla). These visits are for assistance with sleep and setting support. Home visits are a minimum of 1 hour and cost $75 per hour.

Jennifer joined the practice in 2013. She graduated as a Tresillian Mothercraft nurse in 1984 and initially worked for many years in nurseries (0-2yrs) within the long day care sector. She completed her Workplace Cert IV (1994) and became a qualified trainer in Child Care, working for several years in private institutions and Sutherland/St George Community College.

Jennifer was employed for 6 years at Sutherland Family Support Services, working as a nurse assisting “at risk” mothers & babies. There she also gained a qualification as a “Triple P” facilitator (Positive Parenting Program) enabling her to educate parents and grandparents in appropriate parenting strategies for ages 0-5years. She also worked voluntarily for the Sutherland Shire Post-natal Depression Group.

Jennifer has worked as a clinic nurse within the Sutherland Shire for 7 years assisting parents of 0-2 year olds in such areas as feeding, settling/sleeping, physical and emotional development. She has raised 3 children of her own & is passionate about her role in providing support for the entire family unit and continues to keep updated with any relevant information which will benefit the wellbeing of mother and child.
