Burraneer Family Practice aims to deliver traditional, high quality medical care for all age groups.

Health promotion and preventative medicine are emphasised. Our team of doctors offer a broad range of complementary skills, but as a practice, we adopt a similar “holistic” approach to our patients.

All doctors in the practice are vocationally registered GPs, meaning we are actively continuing our medical education by attending lectures and workshops, and reading medical journals. All the doctors possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. The practice has attained full accreditation.

Management Of Your Personal Health Information

We follow the guidelines of the RACGP’s Handbook for the management of health information in general practice. The handbook incorporates federal and state privacy legislation, and the Australian Privacy Principles, which requires that your personal health information is kept private and secure.

The provision of quality health care is our principle concern. It requires a doctor-patient relationship of trust and confidentiality. Your doctor regards patient health information as confidential and will only collect this information with patient consent.

For a copy of our practice’s full Privacy Policy please ask reception. If you wish to access your clinical health record please speak to your doctor to arrange this. Please note there may be a charge if copies are requested which attracts GST and is not claimable from Medicare.

Patient’s Right To Participate In Decisions About Their Healthcare

The Doctor encourages their patients right’s to participate in decisions about their healthcare. If you have any questions regarding the purpose, importance, benefits, risks and possible out of pocket costs associated with your treatment don’t hesitate to speak with your Doctor. There is also a range of brochures and leaflets available to support your decisions in the waiting room.
